Spartans Rock!

I keep forgetting to include this in my posts... Yeah for the Spartans!!! They won their first NCAA Division I ice hockey national championship since 1986 about three weeks ago. Boo-ya!

Gas Prices

I'm sure you've noticed... gas prices are soaring. Here in Hickville a lot of people commute into the "city" from area "farms". I am using quotes because this place is no "city" but they call it that and people aren't farming on the "farms", it is just a big plot of land that they occasionally dig really big holes in and make ponds which then they stock with catfish. Anyway, I digress.

I have heard quite a few people whining about the high prices. I just want to say to a majority of these people - shut up! I know quite a few people who drive gas-guzzling vehicals totally without merit. These people aren't in construction, don't have six-people + families, and are rarely to be found transporting more than themselves and their morning coffee. It just pisses me off that people are so bent out of shape about $2.70 a gallon. I hope that prices stay high or rise more. Then maybe people will take a hard look at just how big a vehical they need to drive, how many peices of worthless nick-nacks from Walmart they need, and just how "away from it all" they need to live. I know the high costs will translate into higher costs for everything but seriously, the materialism, overabundant cheap foodstuffs, and driving everywhere has made us fat and lazy. A change would not be an entirely bad thing. Of course, I do not want to see the cost of my diet coke go up.... that will seriously suck.

In other news, I had a very disturbing arguement with an ignorant hick from the area who seriously believes that global warming isn't a problem. Oh, and Barack Obama is a flaming racist and radical muslim. How can people exist in such an ignorant state? It took me four minutes on Google to find the statistical information to counter his arguement for 20,000 scientists worldwide supporting the ideology that global warming is a hoax. And another three minutes to find out where the racist idea came from (his wife, not him!, made a comment that was not well thought out, to say the least) and two minutes to find out what that radical muslim shit was about (his father was muslim, not radical, BEFORE he had Barack but was basically an atheist by the time Barack made his way into the world). Meanwhile, this ignorant man is out there in the world spreading these falsehoods passionately! FUCK! Wouldn't it be great if all the ignorant people of the world suddenly up and died? Oooh, that's harsh. But really, if you are going to argue something could you please have a clue what you are talking about first?? I hate stupid, ignorant people. Although, if you used ignorant of the english language as a criterion, I might be on my deathbed too... as you can see by my terrible punctuation! Oh well. I would take one for the team. Because, given the road we are on, I think we are doomed as a species.

Hmmm, that was a lot of rambling about not much of anything. A bit doomsday too. Can anyone guess what I should be going... yeah, working. My intro class is taking an exam tomorrow. At least, they are if I get one written tonight. My middle name should be "procrastination"... At least we only have four more weeks.

The Wikipedia Game

Yeah, I just really don't want to prepare for my next class... ugh. Sleep, I just want to sleep. I hate when I procrastinate and end up preping labs until 3am when I teach at 8am the next morning. I am sometimes a very silly girl.

More "Art"

Hey, look, more "Art" from me. Nearly as bad as the first two...

The first one is a rendering of one of my dissertation molecules with a lot of artistic liberty taken with the extended structure... meaning... there isn't one.

The second one was going to be a study in the duality of light but I made the background and decided I liked it the way it is. So, now it is just a green circular thing.
